The Odyssey takes van style, performance, efficiency and safety to new heights
Power & Efficiency
All models feature a 3.5-liter, 24-valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 engine with 248
horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. Its Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) allows
for exceptional power and fuel economy while meeting CARB's ULEV-2 emissions rating. A 6-speed automatic transmission (Touring models) helps the Odyssey achieve its impressive fuel economy, while maintaining excellent performance for a van.
Top of the Class
28 mpg* is an extraordinarily high number for an 8-passenger van. To accomplish this high level of efficiency, the engineers needed more than just an efficient engine and transmission. Low-rolling resistance tires, a variable-displacement power-steering pump, and low-drag wheel bearings as well as an aerodynamic body all help keep the gas-station stops few and far between.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) toughened up its crash-safety tests for 2011, and the Odyssey passed with flying colors. In fact, the Odyssey earned 5 stars in each seating position of all three crash-safety tests, as well as earning a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score.
The Odyssey is known for being big on fun. But were you aware that this innovative vehicle
is small on emissions at the same time? An Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2) rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) says so in no uncertain terms.
Efficiency Without Compromise
The Honda Odyssey features a refined 3.5-liter i-VTEC® V-6 engine that achieves exceptional
fuel economy, and produces up to 248 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. All models feature the
innovative Variable Cylinder Management™(VCM®), which is able to quickly and seamlessly activate or deactivate two or three cylinders, based on the power requirement. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when you're accelerating or climbing, and up to 28-mpg fuel economy.
"Lightning Bolt Design"
You don't need to have kids to appreciate the Odyssey looks. The fact that it's a family
vehicle is almost concealed by its low-slung, modern profile, which is both attention-grabbing
and aerodynamic. Its rear roofline spoiler with integrated brake light complements the
Odyssey's athletic stance.
