Honda Donates $500,000 to Hurricane Sandy Relief

Honda has always been a company committed to helping people. And, in response to the national tragedy Hurricane Sandy has caused to residents of the East Coast, it has swiftly moved into action and is donating a total of $500,000 in both cash and necessary equipment like generators and water pumps, to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

And, that's not all, in addition to the actual donations, Honda is also working with the American Red Cross to establish online locations to enable donations from Honda and Acura automotive dealers, Honda motorcycle and power equipment dealers, customers, suppliers and others interested in supporting the effort.

As American Honda Motor Co., Inc president and CEO, Tetsuo Iwamura, puts it, "As we have in responding to past natural disasters, supporting the Red Cross is an effective way to quickly reach the front lines."1

Additionally, Honda Financial services is offering support for customers who are directly affected by Hurricane Sandy's wrath. Specifically, this means temporarily adjusting policies and fees for Honda lease holders including: payments, late credit bureau reporting, loan payment extensions, late charge waivers and other services, when deemed appropriate.
