Honda Hybrid Sales Reach One Million Units Globally

When you visit DCH Gardena Honda, you'll find a wide range of new and used Honda models designed to fit the needs of just about any driver. And while this includes larger, utility-driven models like the 2013 Honda Ridgeline and 2013 Honda Pilot, the Big H's true calling in the automotive world has always been fuel efficiency.

Case in point: Honda currently offers four hybrid models in the United States, as well as a total of eight models in 50 counties around the world. And as if that alone is not impressive enough, Honda recently reached a hybrid milestone. Specifically, the Japanese automaker recently recorded the sale of its millionth hybrid vehicle.

This is an incredible feat, and especially so when you consider the fact that the first Honda hybrid model was put on sale in Japan in 1999. Rated at 82.32 miles per gallon (in Japan), the Insight was an instant success. That said, it wasn't long before another version of the Honda Insight made its way to U.S. shores for the 2000 model year.

Of course, while the history of the Honda hybrid models DCH Gardena Honda offers to drivers from the greater Gardena area is an interesting one, we're guessing you're more interested in what the future holds. Honda has committed to taking its green offerings one step further, and and as far as imminent models go, we're particularly looking forward to the 2013 Honda Fit EV.

Honda has a bright future, and one that's sure to change the automotive industry for the better. That said, you're invited to stay up to date on the latest Honda news by subscribing to future posts from our blog.
