Holiday Food Transportation Tips

With the holiday season quickly approaching, you may be planning on hosting a gathering involving a feast. Some of your guests may need to travel by car with their food items. We are delighted to share some tips to help you ensure your guests and their food arrive safely:

  • Utilize the two-hour rule. Do not leave perishable foods at room temperature for more than two hours.
  • As a general guideline, cold food items should remain at 40F or lower and hot food items should remain at 140F or above.
  • Friends and family that have longer travel times should bring foods like pies, rolls, chips, etc. that do not require refrigeration.
  • Make sure when your guests and their food arrive that you have room in your refrigerator for cold food items or have extra coolers with ice or ice packs available for cold food storage.

We here at DCH Gardena Honda hope you and your friends and family enjoy a safe and happy holiday season!
