Avoid Automotive Rodent Damage

Here at DCH Gardena Honda, we want you to understand all potential risks to your vehicle. One of the more common problems that has been around for decades is rodent-inflicted damage.

Many automotive companies are starting to use plant-based biodegradable materials, which rodents feast on. This leads to damaged wiring, plastic, hoses and other car parts. You can buy a specially made roll of tape, often sold by dealerships, which contains capsaicin. This is the ingredient found inside spicy peppers, and as you can imagine, rodents avoid your car upon tasting it. Another useful option is installing a metal mesh across opening where rodents may enter. For example, rubber hoses and wiring harnesses are useful places to protect.
